Winners Announced = Community Heroes - Mackay Day Spa

Although only having launched the completion this week on Facebook, they have had some so many nominations for our real local heroes, that we have already had to close the first round an announce a winner! – But don’t worry there is plenty of time to nominate for round two.

Our first community hero has been decided as Rhiannon Ray.

“Rhiannon takes so much time and effort helping others and raising funds and awareness for various charities and always has”, said Lynda Rowe who originally nominated her “I think it would be nice for her to receive a little thank you for once, and I know she would absolutely love a spa treatment!

So far this year Rhiannon was a captain of one of the Relay for Life teams, where she organised a great charity night also and raised over $5000 for the cancer council. She also took part in the biggest morning tea. And currently is a contestant in MRS Australia, which raises awareness for ovarian cancer

Throw your support behind your local heroes and let them know they are appreciated. There are some amazing people in the Mackay and they should be recognized!

Nominations for round two are open now.

The rules are simple, the winner must come from the Mackay region, including Mackay, Emerald, Sarina, Moranbah & all the great bits in between. Think of people who help you in everyday life including Nurses, Teachers, Emergency services personnel, Charity Workers & Coaches etc.
