Before your SunFx spray on tan appointment:

Exfoliate your skin whilst showering using a good exfoliating scrub. We can also offer a full body exfoliation in salon for the full pampering.

Exfoliation removes dry, dull or aged skin cells which will ensure your skin is most receptive to the tanning solution during application, and that your tan will fade evenly afterwards.

We recommend if at home, that you exfoliate the day before your appointment to allow tour skin’s natural oils to restore.

Any hair removal treatments such as shaving, waxing or use of depilatory creams, should also be performed the day before your appointment to avoid skin sensitization.

On the day of your appointment
Shower prior using a balanced skin wash. This will restore the pH balance of your skin to normal levels ensuring even colour development of the tan.

After showering, do not apply any products to your skin such as moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or make-up, as any product residue on the skin will hinder the end tanning result.

Bring with you to your appointment; a brief dark coloured bathing suit / underwear to wear during your appointment, or alternatively, we offer disposable underwear, so just enquire when booking.

If you prefer no tan lines, feel free to tan in your birthday suit. Also to your appointment, please wear dark coloured loose fitting clothes to ensure your tan doesn’t rub off onto your clothing when you redress.

After your Sun Fx spray on tan appointment:
A professionally applied Sun Fx spray on tan takes seven hours to fully develop. We recommend that you do not shower, swim, do any physical activity that may cause perspiration, or apply products to your skin during the development time.

If you are short on time Sun Fx have a 2hr Rapid tan option which means your tan is fully developed in 2hrs, allowing you to resume normal activities sooner.

Once your Sun Fx spray on tan has fully developed, you may resume your normal routine such as showering, applying products such as make-up to your skin and exercising.

However, when showering, we do recommend that you use Sun Fx pH Balanced Skin Wash.

Getting the most from your spray tan
Now that your SunFX tan has been applied, you can reasonably expect it to last for up to 5 to 7 days depending upon your skin type and providing you follow the instructions below.

Once your tan is applied you must leave it to dry completely. We will ensure that your application is dry before you leave, but as a precaution, do not wet your skin for at least 5 hours after the tanning session. (2 Hours for our rapid tan.) Showering the following morning is the best option.

We recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase.

When showering do not be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off, this is part of the tanning process and your skin will continue to tan.

When showering we recommend that you use SunFX Body Wash rather than normal soaps which can be abrasive which in turn reduces the lifespan of your tan.

If you want to extend the life of your tan even further, then we would recommend using our sensational SunFX Tan Extender which will aid in the hydration of your skin thus extending the life of your tan.

SunFX Summer's Secret is another excellent product to consider as it actually builds on your salon tan as well as hydrating your skin.

Finally if you want your SunFX spray tan to last longer then you should where possible avoid:

•Long baths
•Hot spas
•Extended swimming sessions
•Any product that is designed to exfoliate your skin
